Step 2: Complete Your KYB (Know Your Business)

What is a KYB?

KYB (Know Your Business) verifies your company details. This information becomes part of your Digital Product Passport (DPP) that brands and customers will see.

Time needed: 10-15 minutes
What you need:

  • Company documents : business registration number, business license / registration

  • logo file (300×300px)

  • certifications

Be accurate. This data represents your company to brands.

1. Company Details

Aware™ ID* - A short nickname for your company (e.g., "Pro Star Spinning & Weaving Co. Ltd." becomes "prostar")

Use English characters only for all fields.

Production Locations

Add the physical locations of your own production facilities only. Don't include outsourcing partners or subcontractors.

How to add a location:

  1. Click "Add Production Location"

  2. Search for your facility address in the search box, or drag the map marker to the exact spot

  3. Check that the address in "Your Location" field is accurate

  4. Click the + button to confirm

Repeat for each of your facilities.

3. Profile

Add visuals that represent your company.

⚠️ Logo must be exactly 300×300 pixels with transparent background. Other sizes will be rejected.

Company presentation*

Write 3-4 sentences about your company. Keep it clear and direct.

Good example:
"We manufacture sustainable apparel for outdoor brands. Our facility in Bangladesh produces 2 million garments annually using certified organic cotton. We've been in business since 2008 and employ 450 workers."

Stick to facts. Skip the marketing fluff.

Company photos (optional). Add photos of your facility, production floor, or team.

Click "Save" when done.

4. Certifications

Add certifications your company holds (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, Fair Trade, etc.).

Include expiration dates. Aware™ will notify you before renewal is needed.

5. Sustainable Processes

Add any sustainability certifications or process certificates here (renewable energy, water recycling, etc.).

6. Tracer Technology

If you use Aware™ Tracer Technology:
Upload your certificate under "Aware™ Tracer"

If you use your own or third-party tracer:
Upload details under "Custom Tracer"

Don't use tracer technology? Skip this section.

7. Declaration

Read the social compliance statements. Check each box, then the manager sign with your name and title.

8. Terms & Conditions

Read the terms, check the box, and click "Submit"

What happens next

Our team reviews your KYB. This usually takes 24-48 hours.

You'll receive an email when:

  • Your profile is approved (you can start using the platform)

  • We need additional information (respond quickly to avoid delays)
